Who we are
The Meal Planners ("we", "us") provides meal-planning programmes, recipes and shopping lists through our mobile app and API. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. It applies to the app and to this service.
What we collect
- Account details — your name, email address and sign-in method (email, or Apple, Google or Facebook sign-in).
- Profile & onboarding answers — dietary preferences, allergies and intolerances, health and nutrition goals, region, and measurement preferences. We use these to personalise your meal plans.
- Your activity in the app — meal plans, favourited recipes, programme enrolments and shopping lists you create.
- Subscription status — your plan and its status. Payments are processed by Apple, Google or Stripe; we never see or store your full payment card details.
- Technical data — basic logs (such as IP address and request timestamps) kept for security and to keep the service running.
How we use your data
- To create and personalise your meal plans, recipes and shopping lists.
- To operate your account and subscription.
- To respond to support requests.
- To keep the service secure and prevent abuse.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
Health-related information
Dietary preferences, allergies and nutrition goals can reveal information about your health. We only use this information to build your plans and filter recipes that are safe for you, and we only process it with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by deleting your account.
Who we share data with
- Payment providers — Apple, Google and Stripe process subscription payments under their own privacy policies.
- Hosting and storage providers — our servers and file storage (for example, recipe images) run on reputable cloud infrastructure providers acting on our instructions.
We never share your data with anyone else unless required by law.
How long we keep it
We keep your data for as long as you have an account. If you delete your account, your personal data — including your profile, meal plans, favourites and shopping lists — is deleted. Some minimal records (such as security logs) may be retained for a short period where the law requires it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (including under UK/EU GDPR), you have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can delete your account from within the app, or contact us and we will handle your request.
Children
The app is not intended for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update this page and note the new date at the top.
